Heavy Like the Weight can be best described as a story about a Brooklyn kid who meets the life written about in Jack Kerouac’s On The Road! Flame is a serio- comic piece along the viens of John Leguizamo’s “Freak” and Danny Hoch’s “Jails, Hospitals and Hip Hop.” I play 16 different characters ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Richard Pryor to outback Kansas police officers all while giving you an autobiographical narrative. It has an extra Multi-disciplinary aspect to it as well in the form of classical and blues guitar! And all in 80 minutes! Heavy is sometimes funny, sometimes raw but always real and universally human!
